Soil is one of the planet’s most vital resources, and its protection requires continuous care.
On December 5, designated by the United Nations as World Soil Day, SOCAR Polymer once again reaffirms its commitment to ongoing initiatives aimed at preserving healthy soils. Through these initiatives - including comprehensive soil monitoring, training on leak and spill prevention, and large-scale landscaping - SOCAR Polymer contributes to soil protection, helps prevent pollution, and supports long-term environmental sustainability.
In accordance with our approved Environmental Management Plan, soil monitoring is conducted twice a year at our facility. This monitoring enables us to assess the level of potential soil contamination, ensure compliance with environmental requirements, and promptly implement corrective measures to maintain soil quality and cleanliness.
Furthermore, training on leak and accidental spill prevention is an integral part of SOCAR Polymer’s health, safety, and environmental awareness campaign. These training programs enhance employees’ knowledge and skills, helping to prevent accidental spills, which is essential for avoiding soil contamination and supporting overall environmental protection efforts.
Annual tree-planting campaigns are also an integral part of SOCAR Polymer’s environmental commitment. In 2025, a total of 615 trees were planted, 500 of which were planted outside the company’s premises. These activities help strengthen soil structure, reduce the risk of erosion, and promote a healthier ecosystem both within SOCAR Polymer’s operating areas and in the surrounding communities.
