Today, we are proud to announce an important milestone for Azerbaijan’s polymer and pipe sector: SOCAR Polymer has officially started local production of PP-RC (random copolymer) grades used in drinking water distribution, plumbing, and heating–cooling systems.

With the introduction of our new grades — RA0242EX and RA0342EX — local pipe manufacturers can now rely on high-performance, locally produced feedstock that was previously fully imported. These ethylene-modified random copolymers are engineered for:

• Excellent long-term hydrostatic pressure resistance

• High temperature and heat stability

• Reliable performance in modern pressure pipe applications

Our PP-RC grades offer a strong local alternative to widely used imported materials — helping manufacturers:

• Reduce dependency on imports

• Eliminate long overseas lead times

• Lower logistics and procurement costs

• Improve cash-flow planning and flexibility

 

Beyond their industrial impact, these new grades support Azerbaijan’s national development priorities, including reconstruction efforts in Garabagh and the Great Return, by enabling reliable, locally produced piping solutions for new housing and infrastructure projects.

Entering PP-RC production marks a new chapter for SOCAR Polymer: strengthening our presence in the domestic market while positioning our company as a competitive regional supplier to the CIS, Türkiye, and EU for high-quality pipe grades.
